Newport 2026 - Cowley Steam Traction Engine

The Cowley Steam Traction Engine outside of the West Block of the Newport Railway Workshops. The traction engine was built at Cowley’s Eureka Boiler Works in Ballarat in 1916. This is the last traction engine made in Australia. The traction engine is one of only two surviving Australian-built traction engines and the only one in working order.
