A Sumatran Tiger pacing the enclosure at the Melbourne Zoo. This is the smallest of the tigers, growing up to 2.4 metres long and about 120 kilograms. They have the darkest coat with broad black stripes that extend to the forelegs. Over a third of the remaining Sumatran Tigers are in captivity – 375, with around 620 in the wild.
