A female Cairns Birdwing butterfly, Ornithoptera euphorion, in the Butterfly House at the Melbourne Zoo. The females are a lot less showy than their male counterparts without the green markings, but the females are larger – with a wingspan up to 15cm against the 12.5sm for the males.
