One of the Pooley weighing machines in the Locomotive Balancing Table at the Newport Railway Workshops. This one of seven machines that allowed all of the axles on a steam locomotive to be weighed at the same time. Henry Pooley & Son and their green weighing machine were a key feature of the steam age until being taken over by Avery. The table is still in active use with Steamrail.
