An interesting counterpoint to the daytime photo from a similar vantage point at the Melbourne Arts Centre. From left to right we have: the dome of Flinders Street Station, St Paul’s Cathedral spires, the gothic revival 196 Flinders Street, and Federation Square appears to sit on Princes Bridge.

The Flinders Street / Swanston Street corner of the CBD caught from the Art Centre looking over the Yarra River. The dome of Flinders Street Station peaks out from behind the trees. St Paul’s Cathedral spires tower over the corner, followed by the gothic revival 196 Flinders Street – once home to the Metropolitan Gas Company, now Torrens University Melbourne campus. While Federation Square appears to sit on Princes Bridge from this angle.

Zoe and Susan pose on the Princes Bridge with the Southbank Pedestrian Bridge and its Merry Christmas sign in the background.

A revisit of the photo in the post Melbourne Cricket Ground at Night posted 12 years ago. Amazingly the crop and the edit are almost identical, I have just let this as a larger version of the original.

The view across the Yarra and through the Alexandra Gardens to the Arts Centre Spire.

“Sleigh My Name, Sleigh My Name” emblazoned on the Sandridge Bridge and reflected in the Yarra River.

Christmas in the City and the Southbank Pedestrian Bridge (Evan Walker Bridge) is all dressed up for Christmas. Looking downstream from Flinders Street Station across to Southbank.

The view from Princes Bridge on the edge of Melbourne’s CBD. Twilight at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) means that the lights are on for the footy and a ferris wheel is one of the attractions at Birrarung Marr.

Looking up the Yarra from the Sandridge Bridge towards the Southbank Pedestrian Bridge and Princes Bridge beyond with Flinders Street Station making a cameo appearance.
