Ben Nevis Under A Blanket

Day 4 came to a close with us setting up in the Glen Nevis Caravan Park, just across the road from the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. The view should be splendid, but this was as good as it got. It was amazing how late the walkers were coming down the mountain though. I went out about 11pm and there was still a trail of lights coming down then

Loch Creran

Another grey, rainy day at least the Scottish SeaLife Sanctuary provided some respite with a few hours spent inside. A few minutes rain-free lulled us into a false sense of security and we head out on the nature trail down to the shore of Loch Creran, all we found was this small trawler, OB597

Terrapin #1

The Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary acts as a rescue centre for pet terrapins that can no longer be cared for by their owners.

River Otter

The Sea Life Centre outside Oban have an otter enclosure. This is a North American River Otter rather than the slightly smaller Eurasian Otter that is native to Scotland. But there is a reason for this, the North American variety is active during the day, whereas the Scottish otter tends to be mostly nocturnal – not a great attribute at a tourist attraction.
