On the road out to Hook Lighthouse you glimpse Loftus House several times, seen here through a bramble-filled hole in crumbling field wall. In 2007 it was in a state of apparent dereliction and helping build it’s reputation as a haunted house, indeed there is a tale of it being visited by Old Nick himself.
