The Wool & Sheep Pavilion at the Maffra Showgrounds.
A work anniversary happened this week, 25 years with the same organisation. Things have changed a lot – a few job changes and promotions, name and ownership changes. And there’s lots more change on the way.
As always it’s the people that make it all worthwhile – thanks for the support and friendship everyone.
Deep in the heart of Melbourne Zoo’s Lion Park is Cat Alley.
New art work in the Knox City Shopping Centre. To me they look like a zeppelin, a bouncing bomb and a conical buoy.
A giant poppy sunshade at the back of the Shrine of Remembrance.
A visit to the Shrine wasn’t on Zoe’s holiday list, but an early finish at the Aquarium gave us the opportunity.
More gentoo penguins at the Melbourne Sea Life Aquarium. Some might suspect that this one was asleep on the job.
A Gentoo Penguin supervises proceedings in the penguin enclosure at the Melbourne Sea Life Aquarium, while King Penguins and more Gentoos look on.
An unexpected bonus of the visit to Scienceworks, the Great Melbourne Telescope, in the South Pumping Station. Volunteers are working to restore the telescope with tools and techniques that were available when it was built.
The telescope was built in 1868 and was the world’s second largest telescope. It was still in active use when it was damaged by bushfires at the Mt Stromlo Observatory in 2003. After the fire around 70% of the telescope remained in a usable condition.
A gap in the wintry tree canopy in the Carlton Garden, spotted and snapped by Zoe.
