The Shakespeare Memorial Fountain

.The Shakespeare Memorial Fountain

The Shakespeare Memorial Fountain and Clock Tower. Historic England note that the memorial is a commemorative clock tower incorporating horse troughs and a drinking fountain dating from 1886-7. The memorial was given to Stratford-upon-Avon by the American publisher George William Childs. It also celebrates of Queen Victoria’s Jubilee.

One of the joys of arriving in town late is having everything to yourself, the tourist buses have a rolled out for the day, and the masses are gone. It does make the photography a challenge though with all the shadows!
