Heaton’s Monument at the Point Nepean Quarantine Station. The monument marks the location of the original Quarantine Station cemetery on the shore of Port Phillip. Heaton was the supervisor who built much of the station and had the monument built at his own expense. The monument stands as a tribute to all of the migrants who perished on the voyage or soon after.
