Autumn has come, daylight saving is over. The days are getting shorter and the trees are beginning to lose their leaves. New motion detection lights at the Elizabeth Bridge Reserve are a welcome addition, and help to provide a photo opportunity.

Connor checks out the rest of the hard rubbish while I photograph the Telecom Australia Optical Fibre Digital Communication fridge magnet. Telecom Australia became Telstra in 1993, so the magnet is at least 30 years old – and seems to be holding up way better than the filing cabinet.

As incredible as it may seem, I have finally found a more dilapidated petrol pump than those at Yarck. This, somewhat exposed, example was outside a mechanics in Keele Street, Collingwood.
The long side of the shed seen yesterday, sees a wide view of the early days of Mooroolbark railway station .
It’s been a while since we have walked through the Mooroolbark Miniature Railway. Since our last trip going this way a new series of murals has appeared on one of the sheds. This show a Victorian Railways (VR) A2 class 4-6-0 coming out of the shed. The A2 class was the first class of steam engines designed and built in-house by VR in 1907.
When I got home yesterday I was greeted by this sulphur-crested cockatoo.
