Bin Chicken

Straw-necked ibis

A break in the summer heat made for a pleasant dog walk this evening. An unusual sight in the horse paddock tonight – a straw-necked ibis. The straw-necked ibis are seen less often than the Australian White Ibis, but they are not rare.

Go Wild Ballooning 2024

Go Wild Ballooning 2024

One of the joys of living on the edge of the Yarra Valley is seeing the hot air balloons if you are up early enough. A quick trip up to Numurkah for the Agricultural Show meant that I got to see this pair of Go Wild Ballooning balloons getting ready to take-off. What a wonderful way to start the day! And, we managed an 11 point Best of Breed as well.
