Balloon Sunrise (VH-HEE) cruises over Kanes Bridge in Yarra Bend Park just 4 kms from Melbourne’s CBD.
After a lot of trying we finally managed a hot air balloon flight in 2006, and what an absolute joy it was! And to top it all off we ended up being in the Love Balloon (VH-BPM).
Kavanagh E-240s, Balgownie Estate (VH-BWF) and Balloon Sunrise (VH-HEE) are seen drifting over Clifton Hills with Melbourne’s CBD in the background and the bright spot of the clock tower of Collingwood Town Hall.
The pair of Kavanagh E-240s, Balgownie Estate (VH-BWF) and Balloon Sunrise (VH-HEE) are joined by Kavanagh E-210 De Bortolli (VH-VIN).

It’s pretty hard to take a photo of the balloon when you are in the basket. Part of the deal when you are ballooning you are part of the set-up and pack-up crew so there is no time for photos at the beginning and end. Luckily there is a good photo of the Love Balloon at the top of this post on the hiking fiasco website.
