The Victorian Arts Centre is graced with a spindly tube spire which reaches up 162m [^]. This makes it a useful navigation aide, especially at night when it is all lit-up.

It’s seen here from across the Yarra River on a bright spring day, looking much more inviting than the wintery hot air balloon photo from December 2007.

On an early morning expedition today we had a surprise. As we came past the Lilydale Cemetery and Memorial Park we saw three hot air balloons being prepared for take-off in the fog.

What a fantastic start to any day! The sight of balloons always brings a smile to my face – even if I see them on the way to work.

The spires of Melbourne’s Catholic St Patrick’s Cathedral acts as a stunning backdrop to the Park Hyatt’s more modern tower. Taken from the room that the CannibalRabbits celebrated their wedding anniversary.
