<p>The round tower at Glendalough stands at an impressive 33m. </p>
<p>Round Towers are found almost exclusively in Ireland, there are three others in Scotland and one on the Isle of Man.  It is believed that they were used as bell towers, refuges from invaders, or as monastic strongrooms.  Whatever purpose they were used for they sure make memorable landmarks in the Irish countryside.</p>
