Amaryllis belladonna [^], or “naked ladies”, are a bulb with strap-like deep green leaves. In summer the leaves die off after which a single 50cm flower stalk appears from the bare earth. They sure make a striking presence in the garden late summer.

The inflatable gorilla at the Shepparton Show 2010 really needed his sunglasses – we had a lovely bright sunny day.
Winter Solstice
Sunrise in Kilsyth on the Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice occurs for a moment when the earth is at its maximum tilt away from the sun, giving us the shortest day. And it was a beautiful foggy, and very cold, morning – just right for catching the sunrise.
IBM – Clock Speed
Hopefully this brings new meaning to the term clock-speed. To me, without looking under “the bonnet”, it looks as though this International Business Machine runs at about 1 hertz – one movement each second! We found this clock hanging in The Old Brewery in Beechworth.
