Uffington White Horse

The stylised prehistoric Uffington White Horse stretches for 374 feet along the hillside. Close by lie Wayland’s Smithy and Uffington Castle.

Upper Lake Glendalough

Glendalough means the valley of two lakes. Here is one of them, the Upper Lake from the patch of land separating the two lakes. Originally the valley had just one lake, but where the Poulanass River plunges into the valley from the side the lake has silted-up splitting the lake into two.

The City and The Yarra

The Yarra snaking through the heart of Melbourne.  The Victorian Railway’s old Administration Office is the prominent stone building at the bottom of the photo.  After 13 years lying derelict, the building re-opened in 1998 as a hotel. VR Admin Building – Wikipedia [^]
