Upper Lake Glendalough
Glendalough means the valley of two lakes. Here is one of them, the Upper Lake from the patch of land separating the two lakes. Originally the valley had just one lake, but where the Poulanass River plunges into the valley from the side the lake has silted-up splitting the lake into two.

The pub that featured in the TV series – Ballykissangel. We got there as the sun was setting, making the yellow walls of the pub glow. Avoca is a pretty little place wedged in a steep river valley.
